Let your kids’ imagination run wild at Pretend City in Irvine! I recently took my first trip to Pretend City with my 8-month old son; I wasn’t sure what to expect… it was amazing! First, there is something there for all ages. Pretend City is just that, an actual city where kids can pretend to be a doctor in a doctors office, a chef in a kitchen, work for the post office, garden on a farm, they can even work as a cashier at Trader Joes. That’s right, there is a replica of Trader Joes in the city!
For your little one like mine, that isn’t ready to play in the city (but they are welcome too), there is a fabulous play area where they can climb, roll around, and jump on foam blocks and a soft floor.
Everything is hands-on, everything! All aspects of Pretend City encourage kids to socialize with each other and use an endless amount of imagination. Best said on their website, “Through interactive exhibits and activities facilitated by highly trained professional staff, children learn foundational math, reading and science skills while fostering curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.”
Pretend City also offers educational programs, developmental check-ups, field trips, birthday parties and more; check out what they have to offer here. There are tons of monthly events to have fun and learn at. So grab your kids and go!
