Who doesn’t love to color? Admit it, you’ve enjoyed joining your little ones when they are coloring coloring books but coloring in cartoon characters can only be so fun to an adult for a while. There’s a trend now for adult coloring books. That’s right, coloring books made for grown-ups. How cool is that?

This Saturday, November 14, Barnes and Noble stores across the country invite customers to connect, create and color. Riding on the trend of adult coloring currently sweeping the nation, Barnes & Noble is inviting customers to celebrate coloring with The Barnes & Noble All-American Art Unwind event. Coloring offers a number of health benefits including relaxation, improved fine motor skills and renewed focus, which has led to an explosion of participation from adults everywhere.

The Barnes & Noble All-American Art Unwind will feature a nationwide in-store takeover with three unique stations:

  • CREATE – This is the focal point of the event and will give customers an opportunity to take part in a nationwide coloring project where they can color a piece of art designed by renowned artist Millie Marotta, creator of the international bestselling Animal Kingdom and Tropical World coloring books. Customers can then upload a photo of their work to Instagram or Twitter with a special hashtag to help create a national digital art mosaic, and visit to see if their work is selected for inclusion, along with that of other customers from around the country.

  • CONNECT – Customers can personalize with color a selection of greeting cards and envelopes from Hallmark that they can send to friends and family. Customers can also share their creations on social media with the #BNColoringContest hashtag for a chance to win a one-year supply of Hallmark cards featuring two greeting card lines new to Barnes & Noble stores this fall: Shoebox Greetings and Hallmark Signature.

  • COLOR – Experiment with color, different illustration styles and art supplies featuring some of today’s bestselling coloring books and a variety of artist supplies to bring the pages to life.
