Halloween Fun at Knotts Berry Farm

If you have young kids, you know that daddy-and-mommy date nights can be few and far between especially, when you are granny or teenager-handicapped. Fortunately two weeks ago, we had a teenage neighbor available to babysit on a Friday night! And when mommy and daddy get a date night, we like to MAKE IT COUNT. We spent our date night at Knotts Berry Farm for the opening of Knotts Scary Farm Haunt. Our friends at GigaSavvy invited us to the VIP Opening and our evening started with a delicious Boo-fet complete with monster and skeleton shaped desserts!

But the real highlight of the evening were the costumed characters that roamed the grounds and populated the spooky mazes. We ended up going to three mazes – the most awesome of all, in my opinion, was Dia De Los Muertos, a 3D maze.

The following week it was our kids turn at Knotts Berry Farm. On Saturday morning, we took the kids for breakfast at Camp Spooky before Knotts Berry Farm even opened. Full disclosure: our friends at GigaSavvy and Knotts provided us with tickets to Snoopy’s Costume Party (held weekends in October). My younger son was dressed as a wizard and my older one put together a costume, which can be best described as hipster skeleton. The younger one and I kept to the less-scary activities and rides while my older boy and husband rode enjoyed the more thrilling ones like the Silver Bullet and Sierra Sidewinder.
