About

SuburbanMamas.com began as an ezine catering to Suburban Mamas in suburban New Jersey and the surrounding tri-state area, published between 2006-2008. In its earliest blog incarnation as Suburban Mama, the site featured “one mama’s take on life with children in the suburbs. From trips to Target to Gymboree classes, soccer practice and mommy-nights-out, the author (ok, me) Marcie Taylor delivers short and sweet narratives about suburban life.”

You could say I went from being a Real Housewife of New Jersey to….

While the ezine died a natural death, the sentiments of chronicling suburban life and motherhood continued via the blog Suburban Mama. By then, the author moved from suburban Burlington County, New Jersey to a beach town in Orange County, CA. With that move came many changes including the explosion of the so-called mommy bloggers. Parenting advice, product reviews, opinions on hot topics  (like work-at-home vs. stay-at-home moms and more) became staples of parenting blogs.

Real Orange County Housewife

From NJ …. to becoming a real Orange County housewife. I do not look anything like them, but yeah, I’ve seen them around.

And now, once again, the blog is reborn as Suburban Mamas, taking one mama’s journey to the adventure of more mamas. The point of view remains the same, but the voices have multiplied. This version of Suburban Mamas features the words and pictures of many talented women, suburban or not, from across the United States.

  1. I love reading this newsletter. Some very cute info here. I have the rich-mans family one boy and a girl. I love them both so much. I stay at home with them by having a great husband and selling pampered chef Kitchen Products and Usborne books. Big fan of gymboree clothing–hint buy when they have their semi-annual rummage bins —AWESOME DEALS.
